When I was asked to relocate from Argentina and join the new MSD Hub in Zurich, I immediately thought it was an amazing project and opportunity. How many times do you have in your professional career to be part of something from the onset and help create a team from scratch? Since joining the Hub last year as head of GDMS and GDO Data Management Center (DMC), it’s been an exciting journey.

The goal of new MSD Hub in Zurich is to accelerate the development and commercialization of many of our medical inventions, which supports our company’s mission of saving and improving lives. The new Hub brings together teams from different disciplines, both from research laboratories (MRL) and Human Health (HH), in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment, enabling them to better collaborate, make more rapid decisions – and ultimately make meaningful differences for patients.

So how does my team support the Hub’s purpose? We do this by ensuring patient data from our clinical trials is complete and ready for analysis. My team steps in when a clinical trial is being planned. Once a protocol is developed, we create database systems specifications that align with the protocol, ensuring that we collect relevant data. It’s of utmost importance that there are no discrepancies; the data must be complete, and we must ensure it is in proper form for analysis.

Off to a great start
Building this team from scratch has been nothing short of amazing. We have a very diverse team, and while we come from different backgrounds, like academic and pharma, we all share the same level of enthusiasm, willingness to learn and desire to move fast.

We also have great career potential. While many start at an entry-level position, our team offers the unique opportunity for growth and increasing responsibilities. So if data management interests you and you want to be part of a highly motivated, fast-moving team with great career potential in a research-based corporate environment, then we’d love to hear from you.

It is an honor to lead this vibrant new team in Zurich. I am excited to see what the future holds.
