As part of our global sustainability strategy, MSD is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 by 2045. In line with this ambition, MSD Switzerland ensures that 100% of the electricity used at our facilities is sourced from renewable energy. We continuously work to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize our environmental footprint across all operations.

Our buildings exemplify this commitment. The MSD Switzerland office at The Circle in Zurich and our new Rösslimatt headquarters in Lucerne (opening in 2026) are both LEED Platinum certified — the highest global standard for sustainable building design. These certifications reflect our dedication to environmental responsibility, energy efficiency, and sustainable innovation.

Additionally, The Circle holds a WELL Gold certification, recognizing its emphasis on employee health, comfort, and well-being – ensuring our workplaces are not only sustainable but also designed with people in mind.

In line with our commitment to environmental sustainability at MSD Switzerland, 100% of the electricity used at our facilities is sourced from renewable energy. We continuously work to improve energy efficiency, minimize our environmental footprint, and advance our journey toward a net-zero future across all our sites.

At MSD Switzerland, we are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint through targeted waste reduction and resource efficiency initiatives. Across all our sites, we implement sustainable practices such as centralized waste collection to cut plastic use, dedicated recycling zones, and a centralized badge printing system — effectively reducing waste generation and promoting a culture of environmental responsibility.

Our sustainability efforts also extend to energy and resource optimization. We have transitioned to energy-efficient LED lighting, optimized our heating and ventilation systems, and use lake water for cooling at our Lucerne Citybay office. Together, these initiatives advance our goal of creating a greener, more sustainable workplace and support our broader commitment to climate-friendly operations in Switzerland.
