At MSD Switzerland, we are committed to fostering a culture of psychological safety and ethical integrity, where every employee feels empowered to speak up and voice concerns without hesitation. This commitment is strengthened through transparent leadership communication and targeted initiatives such as individual psychological safety training.

To reinforce our global ethics framework, MSD Switzerland has appointed dedicated Ethics Ambassadors at each site. These ambassadors are part of our global ethics program (msdethics.com) and receive continuous training to uphold our company’s highest standards of ethics and integrity.

In 2024, more than 99% of our employees in Switzerland completed the annual Leading With Ethics & Integrity training series — a key element of our MSD Switzerland ethics and psychological safety program. This training builds trust, strengthens inclusion, and promotes well-being within our workplace, ensuring that ethical behavior remains at the heart of everything we do.

MSD Ethics Ambassadors invite employees to speak up.

At MSD Switzerland, we foster a culture of ethics, integrity, and psychological safety where everyone feels empowered to speak up and act responsibly. Guided by our Global Ethics and Compliance Program and supported by dedicated Ethics Ambassadors, we build trust, inclusion, and accountability across all teams. At MSD Switzerland, being ethical means more than simply following the law — it’s about acting with integrity, respect, and accountability in everything we do. Our Global Ethics and Compliance Program ensures all employees uphold our Code of Conduct, promoting transparent and ethical decision-making across our business. Through continuous training, communication, and monitoring, we empower employees to handle ethical challenges confidently and to speak up without fear of retaliation. By fostering a culture of trust and responsibility, we strengthen our relationships with stakeholders and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to ethics, compliance, and corporate responsibility.

The Ethics Ambassador Program plays a vital role in promoting ethical behavior, transparency, and psychological safety at MSD Switzerland. It ensures that every employee knows how and where to raise concerns, feels safe to speak up, and can do so without fear of retaliation.

In Switzerland, two Ethics Ambassadors are appointed at each of MSD’s five sites. They support employees who have questions about ethics, compliance, or workplace conduct, and guide them on how to speak up — whether by contacting their manager, HR, Legal, or through the global platform at msdethics.com.

Through this initiative, MSD Switzerland strengthens its ethical culture, ensuring openness, trust, and accountability across all teams.

At MSD Switzerland, investing in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles is essential for fostering sustainable practices, mitigating financial risks, and aligning our investment strategy with ethical values.

As the global focus on sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical finance continues to grow, ESG investments have become a key element of our forward-looking pension fund strategy. By the end of 2024, the MSD Pension Fund had invested more than CHF 80 million in ESG funds, reinforcing our long-term commitment to responsible and sustainable growth.

At MSD Switzerland, we proudly illuminate our offices year-round to raise awareness for important social and health causes. These include American Heart Month, Black History Month, International Women’s Day, and Earth Hour, reflecting our dedication to diversity, inclusion, and global solidarity.

We also recognize events such as World Autism Awareness Day and Mental Health Awareness Month, fostering a supportive, inclusive community and celebrating the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees. Through these ongoing awareness initiatives, MSD Switzerland strengthens its commitment to social responsibility and employee well-being.
