Our global approach to corporate responsibility is based on the company’s mission and its values. It shows our sense of responsibility toward society, our employees, the environment and business practices.
MSD for Mothers
MSD for Mothers is our international 10-year program to reduce maternal mortality during pregnancy and childbirth. Together with partners, we are working on transformative solutions to strengthen sustainable health systems. We are focusing on improving access to qualitative healthcare for women at health facilities when giving birth, as well as improving access to modern contraceptives.
Mectizan Donation Program
In 1987, MSD committed to providing Ivermectin, a medicine that fights river blindness and elephantitis, free of charge until both diseases are eliminated. This goal was reached in Columbia in 2013, and it could be achieved worldwide by 2025.
Anti-counterfeiting
We support worldwide the increased enforcement of existing anti-counterfeiting laws and the adoption of new public policies to strengthen existing laws and enforcement programs, including increased criminal and civil penalties for counterfeiters.

Transparency
Transparency is a cornerstone of MSD's corporate reputation. We support the efforts of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) to increase transparency in the pharmaceutical industry.
